About Us

Blue Sky Trust is an HIV and Sexual Health Charity.

Our mission is to empower people living with HIV, promote healthy relationships and sexual wellbeing and equip communities and professionals to provide stigma-free, high quality services.

Our Story

Blue Sky Trust’s began in London, inspired by our patron Dr. Patrick Dixon, who in the 1980s was moved by the plight of young men dying from AIDS, often alone and stigmatised. In response he founded AIDS Care Education And Training (ACET), a global Christian network addressing the HIV/AIDS crisis with compassion.

Founded in Newcastle in 1992 as part of this movement, Blue Sky Trust initially supported those seriously ill or dying from HIV, but as treatment advanced our focus shifted to empowering people living with HIV, amplifying their voice and challenging stigma through HIV awareness.

Blue Sky Trust Patron Dr. Patrick Dixon

In 2001, we launched our relationship and sex education programs in schools and the community, aimed at equipping young people with the skills and knowledge to build healthy relationships. We also developed our HIV Awareness training sessions to improve knowledge and reduce HIV stigma and discrimination.

We have continued to expand; delivering a wide range of projects in the community,  workplaces, schools and beyond to achieve our mission to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and resilience to build healthy relationships, navigate sexual health and enhance overall wellbeing.

Blue Sky Trust have been at the forefront of HIV education, prevention and support in the North for 30+ years. Known for going the extra mile, highly professional, empowering, inclusive & compassionate
