Report HIV Stigma
We are passionate about ending HIV stigma and discrimination and we work with partners and people living with HIV, both locally and nationally, to achieve this.
“I am not HIV positive, I am undetectable. I refuse to hide in the shadows because I have HIV, when everything I am deserves to be in the light. The time has come to end the stigma, the silence and the shame. It’s time to move into the light.”
HIV Stigma
HIV stigma refers to the negative beliefs, feelings, and attitudes directed toward people living with HIV, those perceived to be at risk, or associated groups (e.g., LGBTQ+ people, sex workers, or people who inject drugs). It can take many forms and often leads to discrimination, exclusion, or mistreatment.
HIV stigma and discrimination is profound and far-reaching, affecting individuals as well as communities. Reducing stigma involves education, empathy and supportive policies, and Blue Sky Trust are committed to eliminating HIV stigma.
In 2022, Blue Sky Trust asked members about their experiences of HIV Stigma. You can read our findings in the report available below…
