HIV Support Service
A free and confidential service supporting people living with HIV to build confidence, connect with community and strengthen long-term wellbeing, including through increased engagement in treatment & care.
What We Offer
Peer Mentoring
We can match you with a trained peer mentor, someone else living with HIV, to reduce isolation, ask questions, learn from their experience and gain confidence.
We are also running a pilot peer mentor in clinic programme in collaboration with the team at the RVI in Newcastle.
Peer Support Group
Our Connect meetings are an informal space to relax, have fun and connect with others living with HIV.
HIV doesn’t have to be the focus of conversation (and often isn’t), but the group is a safe space to share experiences and learning if any questions or concerns come up.
Finding Your Feet
An HIV diagnosis can be frightening but learning from others can be a first step to a happy, healthy life.
Join our informal, welcoming 1 day course for people who are newly diagnosed. Hear from an HIV specialist clinician and psychologist as well as people with lived experience.
Start Making Sense
A 5-week course for people living with HIV who have experienced trauma. This safe, supportive course, led by Clinical Psychologists, helps you make sense of your experiences and take positive steps toward emotional wellbeing and self-empowerment.
If you’re interested in any of the opportunities above, you can refer yourself (or someone you know) to Blue Sky Trust on our Referrals page via the button below...
